Our Milk and Honey Soap can be preordered now for shipping on 3/20. This soap is made from Swiss Goat’s milk and pure raw honey. Why use a soap loaded with milk and honey? Well, if you read our previous post about milk soaps, you’d know that milk contains lactic acid and lactic acid in milk can lend to diminished fine lines and wrinkles, can stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, fade hyper-pigmentation, and reduce the appearance of age spots. Who knew? Cleopatra bathed in milk and we all know she was considered the most beautiful woman in the world back then (how they knew that without television and multi-media abilities is beyond me, but I’ll take it as fact).
Goats milk, in particular, consists of natural emollients and triglycerides. It is full of nutrients and vitamins such as B1, B6, B12, C and E. In addition, goat’s milk has a pH level that is similar to our skin. This information was taken from an article in Saponifier magazine, a journal that provides scientific information to the soap enthusiast, to soap makers and skin care specialists.
In addition to Swiss Goat’s milk in this fabulous soap, we use pure, raw honey. Honey is wonderful, people! WONDERFUL! It is not only an incredible healer when taken inwardly, it is an incredible skin doctor! Honey is an anti-microbial, killing bacteria on the skin and it allegedly promotes new tissue growth. It contains amino acids which help skin to retain moisture, thereby acting as a humectant. It’s important to use raw honey because its beneficial properties are destroyed by heating and pasteurization. So that’s what we use – pure, raw honey in our soap. Oh honey, why don’t you just try a bar and see for yourself?
This soap looks amazing and I bet it smells great too!
